Amigos Burger has always caught my eye whenever I walk down Uxbridge road outside Westfield. It has this unique charm that makes it stand out from all other shops down the street.

Inside the restaurant, there is one long table, a few seats by the window sill, and a couple of booths. Wooden tables decorated with tiles and the walls hung some retro and funky decors. It in general has this really fun vibe and carries a lot of charisma.

On the side note, they have an awesome playlist that plays some great old-school R&B hits. It simply matches with the restaurant setting and who wouldn’t love to be able to enjoy some amazing food while jamming some great music?

Their menu offers quite a variety of burgers with the option of 6oz, 12oz or 18oz. They also do hot dogs, chicken pita/wrap, as well as a range of sides such as chicken tenders / wings, cheesy fries, nachos etc.

On this visit, we ordered the Fun Guy burger with sweet potato fries, peri peri chicken wings, messy fries and a peanut butter & banana milkshake.

The Fun Guy burger is actually a vegetarian burger which includes portobello mushroom, roasted peppers and onions with cheddar cheese as well as the standard lettuce, red onions and tomatoes. Though without meat, the burger was still very flavorful. Having the option to get sweet potato fries in the meal set is such a bonus – I absolutely adore the savoury crisp you get from the sweet potato fries.

As for the Peri Peri Chicken Wings, the meat was succulent and juicy. You get to choose either a mild peri peri sauce or a hot one. We had the mild one just to be safe. I think its mild is more towards the standard medium heat, which actually turns out absolutely perfect for me. The wings aren’t particularly big but they are definitely finger-licking good.

As for the Messy Fries, it is basically normal fries topped with bean chilli and cheese sauce. The bean chilli is very tasty – lightly spiced and savoury. The cheese sauce added a lot of richness to the overall flavour. As for the fries, they are nicely cooked but lacked a bit of seasoning on its own in my opinion. Regardless, it is a very satisfying and filling dish by its own.

On a different visit, I’ve tried their Happynero Burger as well, which has American cheese, habanero jam, dill pickles and topped with a hint of Amigo spice in addition to the standard lettuce, red onions and tomatoes. The meat quality was pretty good but I just thought it was a teeny bit dry. The habanero jam definitely adds a lot of flavour and spice to the burger. The spice wouldn’t hit you from the beginning but as you eat along, trust me it’ll start hitting your tongue and throat. If you like spicy food, I think this would be an exciting pick!

It’s definitely good quality food at Amigos but I wouldn’t call it the best burger. Nonetheless I got to say its ambience and setting definitely wins it. The overall vibe – from the decors to the music, in addition to the good food, simply sets everything right. It’s worth checking it out!
