Mother Clucker Fried Chicken

It’s hard to not take notice of this fried chicken stall with its catchy name, Mother Clucker. Not only is their name catchy, but they definitely serve one of the very best fried chicken in London.

Mother Clucker started out as a food truck at the Old Truman Brewery in Bricklane back in 2013 with their unique converted US Army ambulance. It still trades there today but also with the addition of shops in White City, Flat Iron Square, Wandsworth, as well as operating deliveries around Whitechapel, Kentish Town and Elephant & Castle. You can also find them at various pop-ups and street-food events too!

On their menu, you can find their signature fried chicken strips, chicken burgers/sandwiches, and a range of side dishes. All of which is halal as well.

Fried Chicken Strips (£6)

These fried chicken strips are one of the best fried chicken in London. The chicken is tea-brined, buttermilk-soaked, and then twice battered, resulting in this gorgeous crunch on the outside and some incredibly succulent meat inside.

I really enjoyed the mild hint of spices on the coating as it added quite an exciting kick of flavours. But what made it really pop is their special hot sauce, which offered an explosion of flavours and really got their own stamp all over it. It was spicy and tangy, featuring a piquant touch of flavours that danced sensually on the palate. With the addition of their lime mayo, the flavours were completely irresistible!

In summary…

…Mother Clucker is the place to go to for a quick high quality fried chicken fix! The juicy succulent meat, crispy and well-seasoned coating, a slaying house sauce…it’s perfection all around.
