Bindas Eatery Westfield

A new restaurant has popped up in Westfield and, of course, we had to check it out! There is no short of Indian food options in Westfield White City – there’s Copper Chimney should you be looking for a proper restaurant, or there’s Indigo for a no-fuss food court meal. And now there’s also Bindas Eatery, a modern Indian restaurant specialising in classic Indian street food dishes with inspiration across various regions including Punjabi, Delhi, Mumbai, Kerala, and Jaipur.

Bindas Eatery Opens In Westfield

You may know Bindas Eatery from its Mayfair restaurant but did you know that they actually first started out in Westfield Shepherds Bush? Bindas Eatery’s founder, Mehak Kansal, received the Westfield Food Entrepreneur Award in 2018, which earned a pop-up site in Shepherd’s Bush as part of the prize. We weren’t aware of the pop-up back then but it was a sell-out success as Mehak showed off her signature Butter Chicken Bomb Burger to the crowd.

All meats served are halal at Bindas Eatery. Alcohol is served at the restaurant.

The Food (What We Ordered)

Bindas House Chai (£3.50) and Rose Chai (£4.25)

We started with some chai, which had been most perfect for escaping the cold.

The house chai features a perfect balance of spice and sweetness, and was just incredibly silky and velvety to taste. We also tried out the rose chai, which is essentially house chai but with a touch of rose. It’s slightly sweeter, with subtle floral notes and adorned with rose petals. Both were very lovely!

Chicken Bindas Malai Tikka (£14)

From the kebabs section, we went with the Chicken Bindas Malai Tikka, which comes with green chutney on the side and dressed with laccha onions. The chicken was generally well-marinated, tender to bite and succulent to taste. Though I feel the spices could have a stronger kick in my opinion. But that’s relatively minor with that lip-smacking green chutney that paired tremendously well with the meat. You can also choose to have this in paneer for a vegetarian option.

Laal Maas (£16)

For something curry-based, we went with the slow-cooked lamb curry. The curry was fairly rich to taste, the meat cooked to an incredibly tender texture, with spices tingling on the palate. Whilst not extraordinary, it was still very nice and have a lovely little homely touch to it.

Lacha Paratha – Ghee / Za’atar & Truffle (£3 each)

To pair with the curry, we ordered the Lacha Paratha. Two flavours are available to choose from – ghee or Za’atar & truffle – and we went with a portion of each. Both parathas are wonderful. But I’d say the Za’atar & Truffle Paratha stood out more to me. Mostly it’s because it’s unconventional and unique, but also just how alluringly aromatic it was. Though it might not be everyone’s cup of tea as the other half, for instance, find the untraditional flavours a bit mismatched.

Chocolate Halwa Brownie (£6)

Originally, I was eyeing the Biscoff Chaimisu for dessert but, unfortunately, it wasn’t ready yet at the time of our meal. So we went with the Chocolate Halwa Brownie, which the staff has highly recommended as well.

It didn’t disappoint at all as every bite oozes richness and indulgence. The ice cream complimented well to the warm brownie and had been the perfect finishing touch to the meal.

Restaurant Review Summary

All in all, Bindas Eatery is a lovely addition in Westfield and we enjoyed the food a lot there. Compared to Copper Chimney just on the other side of the mall, I feel Copper Chimney has a better edge on the grills but Bindas Eatery’s curries, from what we have tried, had been better so it’s good to know there are options around depending on what we’re craving for.
