Burgeri is a popular burger brand in Doha, Qatar, and it has recently just launched in London. It has opened its restaurant at the very heart of London at Great Marlborough St. in Oxford Circus, right opposite to the iconic Liberty.

Unlike in Doha, this London branch would actually be the ‘flagship’ outlet for the brand. While they stand out by their distinctive vintage yellow truck in Doha, their London branch goes with a trendy diner-style setting.

For some reason, I thought it was going to be like a gourmet fast-food restaurant so I was a bit surprised when there was someone to greet me at the front door and leading me to a table, but I am definitely not complaining about that. After sitting down and skimming through the menu, we’ve decided to try some burgers and their hot dog.

Before I start on the food, I want to point out their lovely presentation of food. Their meals are served over a wooden board that has their logo carved on it and designated areas for each food item. We particularly liked their napkins which say “use your hands and smile a lot”.

Here is what we ordered:

B. Majestic Burger

Wagyu Cheeseburger at Burgeri

First up, we had the B. Majestic Burger which consisted of Wagyu beef patty with melted aged cheddar cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and mushroom sauce.

Visually, the burger looked pretty luscious with that cheese melted all over the juicy patty. The meat quality was fairly good, highlighting a strong beefy flavour. I also really enjoyed the squidgy burger buns.

It was a decent burger but then halfway through the burger felt a bit dry.

B. Chilli

The other burger we had is B. Chilli. You can choose either chicken, Angus beef or Wagyu beef and it’s topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, cheese and freshly sliced Jalapenos.

Again we chose the Wagyu beef. In overall it’s quite similar to the B. Majestic but this one carried a touch of heat to it. It wasn’t like fiery hot but it certainly caught us by surprise and decently spicy. Once again, we felt like it needed more sauce, perhaps a refreshing salsa, as the burger felt a bit dry.

The Brave Dog

Moving onto the hot dog, we got the Brave Dog, which is a classic beef hot dog that’s topped with fried onions, sweet relish, mustard, and a cheese sauce that’s made with aged cheddar and American cheese.

As you can see from the picture, the hot dog was a pretty saucy one. As I lifted the hot dog up from the tray to eat, I realized that the buns aren’t connected – it’s a bun completely split into two separate slices to sandwich the sausage.

As a result, it had been rather messy to eat at the beginning. But it’s nothing unmanageable. The beef hot dog was actually quite tasty. Again there’s a distinctly beefy flavour from the sausage and it was certainly a juicy one. One thing though, I feel like the hot dog had too much sauce on it. The sauce seemed to overpower the original flavours of the hot dog. The beef hot dog itself was really tasty but I find the sauce was more like a distraction rather than a compliment to elevate the flavours.

Sweet Potato Fries

Last but not least, we also ordered a portion of Sweet Potato Fries to share. Normally, we don’t expect much from the side but we have been pleasantly surprised. Sweet potato fries are always a bonus to me but these were extra nice. It’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and they’ve really put in the effort to give it an extra seasoning it up. Loved it.

In summary…

Burgeri is a decent burger spot to stop by if you’re around Oxford Circus. The flavours were generally nice, though still with room for improvement. It’s a nice little addition to the area for sure.
