Hot Chocolate at SAID Dal 1923 Antica Fabricca Del Cioccolato

Winter can only mean it is hot chocolate season! While everyone is debating the best way to take hot chocolate or the best hot chocolate in town, this emerged on social media and everyone must agree that this is no doubt one of the very best ones in London.

What brought Said Dal 1923 into everyone’s attention this winter? They use chocolates from Antica Fabbrica Del Cioccolato, which is known as the oldest chocolate factory in Rome. But apart from that, what really made it stood out is having the triple chocolate dripping flowing over the cup of hot chocolate.

I don’t think any person would not find this appealing. I got myself a dark chocolate and of course with the triple chocolate dripping. It is seriously rich and thick to taste – it simply couldn’t get any more chocolatey than this. The texture was thick but silky, velvety and smooth. That is a true cup of hot chocolate there.

The triple chocolate dripping may make it a bit messy to drink but it’s not as messy as you would expect. Just make sure you do lick around your lips for the chocolates! Since I was sitting outdoors on the day (it was full and packed inside so I thought I would brace the chill and sit outside – it’s not like icy freezing cold anyway), the chocolate dripping actually started to set around the cup due to the temperature so I did not have a single problem of keeping myself clean while enjoying this indulging cup of hot chocolate.

This is not the only gimmick they have, they also make chocolate spoons – instead of your normal teaspoon on the side, you will be served with a chocolate spoon. Simply imagine as the chocolate melts into your drink while you stir and adding even more chocolate to your drink! I personally don’t have that much of a sweet tooth so the rich hot chocolate alone is good enough for me but it definitely is something to try out as well. On top of that, there are also mini chocolate cups filled with melted chocolate – another heavenly treat to indulge for all chocolate lovers!

As a side note, I also ordered a croissant to nibble on. Their pastry is definitely amazing. It was aromatic and buttery, with this gorgeous crispy, well-layered and airy pastry. This is a truly amazing cafe that serves great quality food and drinks. The cafe has a lovely setting to chill at if it’s not too crowded. High quality chocolate heaven – how can you say no to that?
