As one of the most celebrated patisseries in New York City, Lady M, arrives in Hong Kong, it has definitely created quite a buzz on social media. As I scroll through Hong Kong food accounts on Instagram, I keep seeing these beautifully presented Mille Crepe. Finally, a few years later, I’m here to try them myself!
Mille Crepes are definitely one of my most favourite cakes ever. In London, my favourite spots so far are Machiya, Kova Patisserie, and Katsute100. Mille Crepes sounded like a simple-ish concept by just stacking up crepes with cream. But it’s not always the easiest to get that perfect ratio to create that lightness and delicacy of a really good mille crepe cake.
Full of anticipation, I visited Lady M’s Causeway Bay branch situated at Fashion Walk. The shop is really elegant, featuring a bright setting and lined with elegant marble tables. White is the colour theme, with a sophisticated feel to it.
Pistachio Mille Crepe (HKD $75 / slice)
Originally I was going to go for the Matcha one and see how it compares to all the London ones I’ve had. But then I spotted the Pistachio Mille Crepe on the menu and was immediately sold on it. It was such a good decision and it would be a no brainer to order this again when I return to Lady M another time.
This Pistachio Mille Crepe was absolutely dreamy. The cake is made up of 20 layers, each lusciously filled with this silky delicious pistachio cream. The ratio was impeccable. It was beautifully creamy but you can still distinctly taste out all the layers. It was so light and delicate as well, and I was very impressed with it.
Latte (HKD $48)
The latte came with a beautiful latte art. A strong and intense wave of caffeine hit me upon my first sip. The coffee was very rich to taste whilst featuring velvety texture. It was definitely a good one to pair with their delicious cakes.
In summary…
…I have thoroughly enjoyed Lady M a lot. Their Mille Crepe cakes have definitely lived up to the hype and were purely divine. There’s no doubt I would come back again when I next visit Hong Kong and possibly hit them up at their original shop in New York as well if I have the chance to! Whether in Hong Kong or New York, I most certainly recommend checking out Lady M. If you’re going with friends, you can order their cake sets or platters to try out more flavours. And they also do savoury dishes so you can make it a proper lunch date too!
