It’s no surprise that I am absolutely in love with the street food scene in Camden. The variety of options is just unlimited. Even the pickiest eater will be able to find something they love. And it’s also no surprise that I found one of the best falafels in London here in Camden Market. Last weekend, I was invited by Magic Falafel, located by the Stables Market, to try out their delicious food.

They are founded by a husband-and-wife duo, who aims to bring the best falafels to London. The husband especially has travelled around the world and lived abroad in multiple countries, all of which he managed to find good falafels. However, London seemed to fall short of them and, as a result, Magic Falafel is born.

With their falafel wraps, you get to choose from white bread or brown bread. We were recommended with brown bread so we followed that. It was then stuffed with lots of salads, hummus, tahini, grilled aubergines, various sauces and, of course, falafels.

As I took my first bite into the falafel, I just loved it. It was absolutely delicious – super crispy on the inside and amazing flavours on the inside. You can just taste how fresh the ingredients were and it was very well-seasoned.

I have always quite liked falafels and would always look out for free falafels on the streets during lunchtime around my work area (a few shops regularly come out on the streets to hand out free falafels). All tasted quite similar to one another, with subtle differences in flavours or sometimes textures. I never really know how to distinguish a good falafel but this one didn’t strike me as a good falafel – it strikes me as one stunning falafel!

Not only was the falafel itself outstanding, but all tother components in the wrap were also up to par as well. The salad was refreshing and I am not even a salad person at all. The hummus was velvety and smooth, whereas the grilled aubergine was purely amazing and addictive to taste. And last but not least, the sauces really brought out the flavours and complemented everything exceptionally. As a bonus, I had mine with a spicy sauce which offered a lovely tease to the palate as I devoured this gorgeous falafel wrap.

In summary…

Honestly, hands down Magic Falafel definitely is magical. They are most absolutely the best falafels I’ve had in London so far. I enjoyed the food thoroughly. The flavours were there and the quality is absolutely on point as you can taste the freshness of every single component.

Great news is that they are going to expand and have several amazing ideas in plan. I couldn’t wait to see how things are going to turn out and I am genuinely excited for them!
