No-fuss, just one mug, a microwave, and ready in 5 minutes. This Nutella Mug Cake is definitely one to keep in the pockets, a key to all your late-night dessert cravings!
Combine all ingredients in a large coffee mug. Whisk well with a fork until smooth.
Microwave on high for 1 minute and 20-30 seconds.
Notes
*You can use Self-raising Flour in replacement of Plain Flour and Baking Powder
Make sure you have all the ingredients thoroughly mixed in the mug. You certainly don't want to discover a slab of flour as you dig into the cake!
If you're finding it difficult to mix properly in a mug? What you can do is mix the cake batter in a separate mixing bowl if it's easier before pouring it into a mug (or a small bowl even).
Cooking time depends from microwave to microwave. Mine took 1½ minutes while some might take shorter/longer for the cake to set.
If making for the first time, microwave for 1 minute and then keep testing by 15-second increments until set.
Do NOT overcook the mug cake. One con about microwaving is the loss of moisture. If you overcook the cake in the microwave, the cake would turn out dry and even rubbery in texture, which is not ideal.
