It’s better late than never. Kova Patisserie has been on my radar for so long but I haven’t managed to get around visiting until now. When I posted the Vanilla Mille Crepe from Machiya a while ago, many of you recommended Kova to me. After all this time, here I am – we finally managed to try this place that everyone’s been talking about!

The shop is tucked away at St Anne’s Court. It’s actually a lot smaller than I anticipated. The interior is very bright with a minimalistic setting. It does kind of transport you away from the busy streets of London into a calm secluded space.

Seeing this as the most iconic across social media, of course, we had to try it out ourselves. It hit the perfect balance of both flavour and texture. That perfect ratio of cream created this distinctly layered texture without it being dry. The cake was light and delicate, with the matcha powder subtly seeping through the vanilla cream.

Sea Salt Cheese Lava Cake

Here is one that’s new on the menu – the Sea Salt Cheese Lava Cake.

First of all, the cake visually looked absolutely amazing. Taste-wise, it was stunningly soft, spongy, and light. It’s not too sweet and carried a lovely little touch of saltiness. The flakes on top added a crunch to the texture together with the dried fruits. We all enjoyed it and I’m sure you would too!

On a complete separate occasion, my friends actually ordered this Sea Salt Cheese Lava Cake in 6-inch size for my birthday one year. And guess what, I loved it.

Hojicha Roll Cake

Then we went for the Hojicha Roll Cake. Hojicha is a type of Japanese green tea that has a distinct charcoal roast taste. There’s a mild touch of the tea and it’s not too sweet. However, we thought the texture was a bit too dry for this one.

Matcha Latte

Last but not least, we also ordered a Matcha Latte to wash everything down. It was fairly decent – good balance of the matcha tea flavour with a nice milky touch.

All in all, it’s certainly worth giving Kova Patisserie a visit. There’s a reason why that Matcha Mille Crepe has been especially popular on social media. Thank you for all my Instagram followers recommending this! And now I, in return, recommend you all the Sea Salt Lava Cake. Big love to every single one of you!
