How to Make Iced Tiramisu Latte at Home
Tiramisu Latte Ingredients
- Espresso – I made mine with an induction Moka pot. See recipe notes for using instant coffee.
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder – for enhancing the espresso and for dusting
- Ice
- Milk – I use full-fat milk, but you can use any milk of your choice
- Mascarpone Cheese
- Double Cream
- Icing Sugar
- Vanilla Extract
Recipe Notes
- If you don’t have any coffee machines or equipment to make espresso and are using instant coffee instead, mix 2 teaspoons of instant coffee with ¼ cup of hot water. Instant coffee doesn’t quite replicate the taste of a good espresso, but this method would be close enough.
- Baking cocoa powder is typically unsweetened and works perfectly for this recipe to enhance the coffee body & flavour. Do not substitute with instant chocolate powder.
- Make sure to whisk the mascarpone cream properly until soft peaks form before topping it on the latte. If under-whisked, the cream layer would be too dense and sink into the latte.
- Hot espresso could also melt the cream topping layer. Letting the espresso cool down for 1-2 minutes would be ideal to keep your presentation on point!
Kitchen Products You May Need
- I’m a fan of making espresso with my Bialetti Moka pot. Good quality Moka pots do matter to the coffee flavour due to construction, heat distribution, and durability reasons. Bialetti is a long-standing premium brand for Italian Moka pots and is widely recognised to make some of the best coffees.
- If you have an induction hob like I do, Bialetti also offers induction Moka pots. Alternatively, you can get an induction plate, which acts as an adaptor for the use of coffee pots and pans on induction hobs.
- An electric frother can be super helpful and efficient for whipping the mascarpone cream. I recommend getting one that comes with a double whisk head, as I find single-head ones too weak to whisk cream effectively to the desired texture.
