Things never get boring in London. BOXHALL City is a new food hall opening in Liverpool Street, featuring 13 top-tier kitchens, two stylish bars, and a rotating chef residency. And, of course, there are plenty of great halal food options amongst the exciting food lineup at BOXHALL City.
Where is BOXHALL City
BOXHALL City is located inside the beautifully restored Metropolitan Arcade, right by Liverpool Street station. It is BOXPARK group’s first new dining concept, refurbishing the charming Edwardian venue into an elevated food hall – a spin-off to their usual shipping container-style BOXPARK venue.
You can make a booking on their website here.
Halal Food Options at London Boxhall City
As per everything on this blog, please ALWAYS double-check the halal status for each restaurant as suppliers/kitchen set-ups may change.
Old Chang Kee
The Singaporean sensation is heading eastbound, bringing those ridiculously delicious curry puffs to Boxhall City at Liverpool Street. If you can only get one thing, grab the Chicken Curry Puff (with or without egg) and thank me later! Curry puffs aside, they also do laksa, nasi lemak, etc.
Farzi Cafe
Farzi Cafe is already well established at Piccadilly Circus with its modern approach to Indian cuisine and its prime location for pre-theatre dining. At their new BOXHALL City site, they are serving the likes of Vada Pavs, Butter Chicken Baos, Lamb Chettinadu, Mini Idli Sambhar Podi, and more. Don’t forget to wash it down with a warming cup of masala chai as well!
Baked Bird
You might roll your eyes and think, “here’s another chicken spot”. But no, Baked Bird is not your typical fried chicken joint. Instead of fried, they do it baked, with no oil, half the calories, salt and fat. The results are just as good as fried chicken, if not better, featuring perfectly crispy coating and bold flavours with their award-winning sauces.
Nativo
Fusion cuisine is always a good idea. Nativo brings Latin American soul with Japanese artistry, creating a uniquely fun fusion food concept that should not be missed. Its BOXHALL City site will be serving a range of sharing dishes and lunch box options. Think of Chicken Yakitori with a Latino flair and many more incredible dishes to wow your taste buds!
Inamo Sukoshi
In the mood for sushi? Then check out Inamo Sukoshi, a street food spin-off from the popular Inamo Restaurant. Expect knockout sushi, including their signature Dragon Rolls, and fusion street food with influences from across Asia.
Eggslut
LA sensation Eggslut will be taking residency at BOXHALL City and serving its legendary egg sandwiches. If you fancy adding some meat to the classic Fairfax egg sandwich, you’d be thrilled to know that their Wagyu beef, beef bacon, and turkey sausages are halal.
Club Mexicana
Club Mexicana is a fully plant-based taco joint that really carved its way, not just in the vegan sphere, but through the entire London food scene. Whether it’s the Al Pastor, Baja ‘Fish’, Vegan Cheeseburger Taco, or Jackfruit Shortribs, you’d be totally in for a treat with its clever and exquisite flavours. Tacos aside, you can also find nachos and burritos on their menu at BOXHALL City.
Soft Serve Society
They started in East London, and now they’re back in East London. Soft Serve Society is coming home with its latest residency at BOXHALL City, serving you unbelievably delicious soft-serve ice cream sundaes and matcha cookies.
