Hong Kong Halal Food Guide

Compared to Singapore and Malaysia, Hong Kong is often overlooked as a Muslim-friendly travel destination. There’s always been a small Muslim community in Hong Kong for many years, mainly made up of South Asians, but it’s only rather recently that there is a growing demand for halal food. From longstanding classics to new, snazzy harbourfront fine-dining, we’ve put together a list of the best Hong Kong halal food dining options in this article.

Where to Find Halal Food in Hong Kong

Islam Food

This is my number one halal restaurant in Hong Kong. Islam Food in Kowloon City has been a longstanding local gem since the 1950s, and it continues to be an incredibly popular spot today. Their signature Juicy Beef Patties are to die for, and they make a mean Lamb Curry. Nearby sights include the Kowloon Walled City Park and Kai Tak Mall.

A bowl of halal Lanzhou style Beef Noodles at Wu Zhi Jian Hong Kong

Wu Zhi Jian Beef Noodles

Located on the busy Hennessy Road in Wan Chai is this absolute food gem called Wu Zhi Jian Beef Noodles. They specialise in halal Lanzhou-style Beef Noodles, featuring freshly hand-pulled noodles that are cooked to the perfect al dente texture, served in a clean, warming broth. We loved the beef noodle soup, but the biggest highlight was the Cumin Lamb Skewers, which were so good we immediately ordered two more portions! The steamed dumplings were good too, and all in all, it’s a fantastic and affordable halal restaurant in Hong Kong.
