Smash N’ Slide: London’s Best Halal Smash Burger

I’m going to cut straight to the point here and say Smash N’ Slide is the best halal smash burger in London. You may notice that we don’t often venture out of zone 2 and it ought to be an occasion or something absolutely worthwhile for us to head non-central way. We heard plenty of amazing things about Smash N’ Slide and, eventually, decided to travel out to Northolt (they are now in Wembley) to see what it’s all about. You already know my verdict – the burger was totally worth that effort and left us wanting more!

Smash N’ Slide: Bringing Halal Smash Burger to West London

When the hype for halal smash burgers first arrived, it was always East London that got all the food spots and attention. This is where Smash N’ Slide swoops in and offers West Londoners the best halal smash burger around town. They operate out of a home kitchen, previously from Northolt (when we visited), now in Wembley. It’s an online order & collection system, where you select your pickup time and collect your order in person. Alternatively, delivery via Deliveroo is also available if you live close enough to their location. Note that Smash N’ Slide currently only operates from Thursdays to Sundays.

The Food: What We Ordered

Date of dining: Nov 2021

The Original Smash Burger (£8)

Keeping it simple, I went with the Orignal Smash Burger, featuring a 28-day dry-aged & grass-fed beef patty, American cheese, pickles, red onions, and Smash burger sauce in a toasted Brioche bun. We were actually late to our pick-up time but the burger still tasted absolutely amazing. The smashed beef offered a really nice crust and oozed umami. From the crispy edges to the succulent beef, the burger was flavoursome and incredibly juicy to taste. Everything just gelled together so well and it completely left me craving for another one straight after!

Spicy Smash Burger (£9)

As for my other half, he enjoys spicy flavours so he opted for the Spicy Smash Burger. Essentially, it is the same as the original burger but with added jalapenos. He thoroughly enjoyed every bite of the burger, and we both agreed it’s the best halal burger in London.

Cajun Fries (£2.50)

For sides, we went with Cajun Fries, which gave a light touch of spice from the sprinkle of Cajun seasoning. The fries were fairly standard – nothing particularly outstanding but a decent side to go with the burgers. Alternative flavours include cheesy fries, sriracha fries, and original lightly salted fries.

A slice of red velvet cheesecake with a chocolate biscuit base, a red velvet cake layer sandwiched in between the vanilla cheesecake, and topped with chocolate curls

Red Velvet Cheesecake (£3.50)

This wasn’t planned but Smash N’ Slide kindly offered us a complimentary slice of red velvet cheesecake for desserts. I do have a soft spot for red velvet desserts and this absolutely hit the spot, featuring a layer of red velvet cake sandwiched in between the vanilla cheesecake, as well as a crunchy chocolate biscuit base and topped with chocolate curls. It’s rich and decadent, and the perfect finish to the burger.

Food Review Summary

Summing up, Smash N’ Slide is firmly the best halal smash burger in town and it seriously needs to become a restaurant! If you’re based in West London, it’s imperative that you go make a visit to try out their amazing burgers. Keep an eye out on their social media for any specials as they dish out the likes of Smoked Brisket Bun, etc. which are going to be so good that they will be sold out within hours!
