Nutella Iced Chocolate Recipe

Hot chocolate is no doubt the perfect hug in a mug during wintertime, and Nutella hot chocolate is like the dreamiest cosy winter drink. But who is it to say you can’t enjoy it during the hotter months as well? In fact, iced chocolate is a superb summer drink and Nutella iced chocolate is simply divine. It’s perfectly sweet, refreshing, and less heavy than the likes of milkshakes. You already know Nutella and chocolate go together like besties – what works well with hot chocolate can work just as good when iced.

For myself, iced lattes are my summer go-to’s. But my other half isn’t a fan of coffee so I started making iced chocolates for him instead. It is nothing fancy. All I use is Cadbury’s instant hot chocolate, Nutella, and milk. Of course, this recipe can be made as a Nutella Hot Chocolate instead of iced as well – see recipe notes below.

How to make Nutella Iced Chocolate

Ingredients You Need

  • Nutella
  • Instant Hot Chocolate Powder – I used Cadbury’s
  • Hot Water
  • Ice
  • Milk – I used whole milk. Feel free to swap with any milk of your choice
  • Double Cream + sugar (optional)
  • Cocoa Powder (optional) – to dust on top of the cream layer for decorative purposes
A jar of Nutella

Recipe Notes

  • It is important that you use hot water to stir the chocolate and Nutella so that they melt and blend into the beverage smoothly.
  • We use Cadbury’s Instant Hot Chocolate for this recipe. Different brands may differ in flavour so do adjust the amount accordingly to your taste and add sugar/sweetener if need to as well.
  • As mentioned, you can directly make this as a Nutella hot chocolate. To make this into Nutella Hot Chocolate, warm the milk and mix it directly with the Nutella and instant chocolate until fully blended. You can skip the hot water step as stirring with warm milk is effective enough in melting the mixture. Obviously, you won’t need the ice as well!
