Arcade Food Hall Covent Garden
Following its success in Tottenham Court Road and Battersea, Arcade Food Hall has opened a new location in Covent Garden. The snazzy food court houses seven chef-led kitchens, including Manna Burgers, who serves some of the best halal burgers in London, as well as Solis Kitchen for excellent halal steaks.

Noodle Inn Covent Garden
Noodle Inn is a viral Chinese noodle joint that always attracts a long queue. Whether it’s their signature chilli oil spill noodles, hand-pulled noodles, or knife-cut noodles, they’re certainly one of the most authentic halal Chinese restaurants in London. Note that only their Covent Garden and Liverpool Street branches are halal.
Halal status: All meats served are halal (Liverpool Street and Covent Garden branches only)
Qima Cafe
There’s nothing better than great coffee, delectable pastries, and delicious halal brunch dishes. Qima Cafe in Covent Garden does exactly all three. The Yemeni speciality coffee shop is the UK’s first tree-to-cup cafe, boasting an extensive network of over 7000 smallholder farmers globally. It also has an in-house bakery team that makes some of the best croissants in London, as well as a kitchen that designs a delectable brunch menu exclusively for the Covent Garden branch.

Old Chang Kee
Ditch that Gregg’s and head down to Covent Garden to try out Old Chang Kee’s signature Singaporean curry puffs instead. The chicken curry puffs (with/without egg) are a must-try, and there are plenty of other flavours as well. Other classic Singaporean hot dishes are also available in-store, such as Laksa, Nasi Lemak, and Curries.

Apple Butter Cafe
Looking for a charming halal cafe for brunch? Then you must check out Apple Butter Cafe, i.e. one of the top halal brunch spots in London! Both the Croissant Butter Pudding and Sticky Date & Tahini Pudding are popular hits. For savouries, we recommend trying out their Truffle Scrambled Eggs.

Fatt Pundit Covent Garden
Fatt Pundit specialises in Indo-Chinese cuisine (Chinese Hakka x Kolkata Indian) with a showstopping menu featuring momos, chargrilled lamb chops, crackling spinach, etc. Make sure you save space for desserts, as you don’t want to miss out on their signature sizzling brownie as well!

Frog by Adam Handling
If you are looking for something different and are willing to splurge for an occasion, check out the Michelin-awarded Frog by Adam Handling restaurant. The contemporary British fine-dining restaurant focuses on sustainable zero-waste cooking and offers a sophisticated dining experience.
Halal status: Halal meats are usually available. Mention halal request on your booking so that the staff can advise accordingly
Buns & Buns Collective
Right at the heart of Covent Garden Market is Buns & Buns Collective, which runs three separate dining concepts under one roof and kitchen – the Marrow Kitchen, Ciaciu Pasta Bar, and Matchamisu London. Marrow Kitchen serves halal grills and rotisseries, whereas Ciaciu Pasta Bar offers some delicious halal Italian classics from pastas to pizzas. If you like matcha desserts, then finish your meal with a little matcha tiramisu from Matchamisu.

Yari Club
Yari Club specialises in traditional yakitori (i.e. Japanese bbq skewers). Chicken is halal and you can enjoy a range of bento boxes, yakitori skewers, and katsu.
Chestnut Bakery
Chestnut Bakery offers some showstopping pastries such as Eclairs, Mille Feuille, award-winning croissants, and many more. Their croissants, in particular, are not just the best in London, but they have also been crowned the best in the UK. Additionally, they also make some great halal savoury options such as Za’atar & Gruyère cheese croissant, flatbread, and halal pastrami sandwiches.

P.F. Chang’s
Popular in Dubai, and also popular in London, is this halal-friendly Chinese restaurant, P.F Chang’s. Their signature Dynamic Shrimps is a big hit, along with other popular dishes such as Mongolian Beef, Wok-charred Ribeye, etc. Additionally, they are also known for gorgeous seasonal decorations at the restaurant, especially during the cherry blossom season.

LALI Cafe
Located in the Long Acre is the aesthetic LALI Cafe. The beautiful, upscale, relaxing cafe serves speciality coffee, matcha, cold-pressed juices, and a halal Lebanese-inspired brunch menu.

Gura Gura
Featuring beautiful interiors & a wide range of pan-Asian dishes, Gura Gura has risen in popularity when it comes to halal food options in Covent Garden. Whether it’s sushi or dim sum, it’s got a variety of dishes to tickle your fancy!

Seven Dials Market
Seven Dials Market is an indoor market in Covent Garden with a great food line-up. Halal food options include Latino-style fried chicken, Uzbek dumplings, Indian street food, and a number of desserts to choose from. Our personal favourites include OshPaz, Deekenek, Chai Guys and more.
Frothee
Not only is Frothee known for making good matcha lattes in London, but it is also a Muslim-owned halal cafe in Covent Garden that serves some excellent pastries. It’s the perfect pit stop for a drink and treat, and it’s one of the best coffee shops in Covent Garden.

Le Bab
Le Bab is a contemporary Middle Eastern restaurant bringing gourmet-style kebabs & mezze to the London food scene. Apart from kebabs, they also make some mean side dishes such as their signature hummus, Turkish Korean Fried Chicken, Chipotle Tahini Broccoli, etc.
Halal status: Chicken & lamb are halal
Homeslice Neal’s Yard
This isn’t your regular pizza spot. Homeslice makes pizza as huge as 20 inches and offers various unique & innovative toppings. The best part is that, for the 20-inch wood-fired pizzas, you can go 50/50 to try out two flavours in one go. If a 20-inch pizza is too much, you can still get their regular 12-inch pizzas or buy them by the slice as well.

Lahpet Covent Garden
Popular Burmese restaurant, Lahpet opened a second site in Covent Garden and is offering halal chicken for the branch. Some must-try dishes include Burmese Tea Leaf Salad, Mohinga (Burmese Fish Noodle Soup), Coconut Noodles with Chicken, etc.
Cinnamon Bazaar
As part of one of the many Cinnamon restaurants across the UK, Cinnamon Bazaar specialises in modern Indian dishes inspired by the cultural vibrancy of bazaar market cuisine. The menu features a range of chaat, Indo-Chinese small plates, as well as some classic Indian street dishes including their signature Lamb Roganjosh Shepherd’s Pie.
Halal status: All meats served are halal except pork.
Honest Burger
If you don’t already know, Honest Burger has now joined the halal chicken gang too and serves halal chicken across all branches nationwide! All burgers come with their addictively delicious homemade rosemary salted chips which would leave you craving for more.
Dishoom Covent Garden
There is always a queue at Dishoom. They were decent when we visited years ago but have seen a lot of mixed reviews nowadays. No doubt there are now better halal fine-dining Indian restaurants in London, but it’s an option in the area nonetheless.
Halal status: All meats served are halal except for the bacon wrap on the breakfast menu (handled separately).
Bab Mansour
Escape into a little Moroccan oasis at Bab Mansour, a charming Moroccan restaurant in Covent Garden. Enjoy the likes of tagines, grills, and mezze, and finish the meal with a warming cup of mint tea and a slice of baklava!

Shake Shack
Shake Shack Covent Garden is the very first branch of the American burger joint when it first arrived across the pond. Now they are everywhere across London and offer both halal chicken and beef at all branches.
Halal status: Beef & chicken are halal
Pizza Pilgrims
Pizza Pilgrims now offer halal pepperoni across all their branches, with strict kitchen policies in place to handle the ingredients separately and cook them in a separate oven. If ordering from their menu, the pepperoni option comes with honey as well which we’re not too impressed with. Instead, we like to order a classic Margherita and order pepperoni as an extra topping!
Halal status: Halal pepperoni is available across all branches
Christopher’s
Everyone loves Christopher’s famous Chocolate Brioche French Toast. Desserts aside, Christopher’s also offers halal Wagyu Burger and halal Australian Wagyu Rump Steak. They usually stock halal chicken, but just in case, you can pre-order beforehand for your visit. Also available for pre-order is halal lamb (48 hours in advance required).
Halal status: Selective beef dishes are halal. Halal chicken and lamb can be pre-ordered 48 hours in advance.
Steak & Company
Looking for an affordable steak night in central London? Steak & Company has a separate halal menu, and their food is at a reasonable price for steaks. It’s not like the best steakhouse around, but for something easy & no-fuss in central London, it’s an alright pick.
