Where to Find the Best Desserts in Chinatown London

Candy Cafe

Hidden behind a narrow red door on Macclesfield Street is an Asian dessert heaven named Candy Cafe. The Brick Toast dessert is an absolute showstopper, as well as their waffle & crepe offerings. Their Coconut Sago Sweet Soup is also a signature item, available hot or cold and a variety of toppings. Additionally, they also do traditional Asian sweet treats like Tang Yuan, Gui Ling Gao, Shaved Ice, Halo-halo, etc.

Bun House

Looking for the runniest and most delicious Cantonese steamed custard buns? Don’t walk, run to Bun House Chinatown. Steamed buns aside, you ought to check out their Coconut Kaya Hong Kong-style French Toast

Sakurado

It’s a dessert galore every time you step inside Sakurado. The halal Japanese bakery/patisserie has everything that tickles your fancy in store. From mille crepe to Hokkaido snow cake, from handcrafted mochis to viral round croissants, you’d be spoilt for options there.

Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream

The Filipino ice cream parlour, Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream, is always a good shout for desserts. Take your pick from Bilogs, Doughnuts, Buko Pie, Ube Brownies, etc., and don’t miss out on their wonderful range of Filipino-inspired ice cream flavours that make them one of the best ice cream spots in London.

Milksha

Milksha is a lovely ice cream & boba spot (I adore the Brown Sugar Milk with Honey Pearls) on Shaftesbury Avenue. Moreover, they also offer a range of Asian-inspired desserts, such as Mango Pudding, Egg Custard Pudding, etc.

Kova Patisserie

Whenever I have a cheesecake craving, Kova Patisserie’s Sea Salt Lava Cheesecake is one of my go-tos. They also do lovely mille crepes, matcha gateau brownies, Japanese strawberry shortcakes, matcha tarts, bubble teas, etc.

Hefaure

Hefaure remains one of the more popular spots for Japanese souffle pancakes, not just in Chinatown, but London overall. Find them on Shaftesbury Avenue that specialises, where a long queue always form outside their shop. Whilst most people head there for takeaway, they do have limited seating downstairs. Other than Japanese souffle pancakes, they also specialise in brown sugar bubble tea which is worth trying as well.

Bubblewrap

A quintessential Chinatown staple, one can’t ever go wrong with a little bubble waffle and ice cream treat from Bubblewrap. Despite the popularity of bubble waffles everywhere across London, Bubblewrap remains the most authentic one to honour the traditional recipe for Hong Kong-style bubble waffles. There are so many topping options to choose from, and you’d certainly have your sweet tooth satisfied.

Tsujiri Chinatown

If you’re a matcha lover, then Tsujiri would be the perfect dessert spot to hit up in Chinatown. The premium Japanese matcha house is known to be one of the best matcha dessert spots in London. Whether it’s a simple matcha soft serve, matcha sundae, or matcha basque cheesecake, it’s going to be quality in every bite.

Shibuya Soho

Named after the famous Japanese district, Shibuya is a Japanese cafe that’s known for its croffles and bingsu (shaved ice dessert). Additionally, they also do roll cakes and Japanese-style shortcakes.

Taiyakiya

With mermaid/unicorn-themed soft serve ice cream, served in a Japanese fish waffle cone, Taiyakiya is probably one of the most Instagrammable dessert spots in Chinatown. Other than ice cream and traditional Japanese fish waffles, they also do a range of drinks and bobas.

A cup of Frozen Yoghurt at Yole Westfield White City

Yole

Fancy a guilt-free dessert? With its zero-sugar ice cream and healthy frozen yoghurt offerings, Yole is the place to hit up. From fully loaded sundaes to bubble waffles, it’s somewhere you can let yourself fully indulge without worrying too much about the calories.

Mrs Bakery

Not exactly a dessert spot, but their bakery goodies are so good and make a lovely sweet snack if you’re out and about in Chinatown. Mrs Bakery possibly makes the best Cantonese egg tarts you can get your hands on in London, and they also make an amazing Matcha Lava Bun, Mochi Bun, as well as Mini Egg Waffles.
