Iced Maple Latte Recipe

Not only is maple syrup great for drenching your pancakes, but it’s also incredibly delicious, if not one of the most delicious sweeteners for coffee! It’s no doubt my most favourite go-to when making an iced latte. A little dash of maple syrup

Why You’d Love This Maple Latte Recipe

This maple latte is incredibly easy to make, and it also adds another beautiful dimension of flavour to the coffee. Instead of just sugar, maple syrup carries a naturally earthy flavour that adds complexity with its caramel-like notes. While this is an iced coffee recipe, maple syrup works wonderfully in a hot coffee too.

Maple vs Golden Syrup

Maple syrup comes from the sap of maple trees, which can be found mainly in Canada and the Northeastern United States. Golden syrup, on the other hand, is made from refined sugar cane. As described above, maple syrup has an earthy flavour with caramel & vanilla notes. Whereas, golden syrup has a more buttery, toffee-like taste.

Could you use Golden Syrup instead of Maple Syrup for this recipe? Yes, but it doesn’t achieve the same level of flavour depth & complexity, in my opinion.

Recipe Notes

  • If you like to take your iced latte quite sweet, feel free to add more maple syrup to your liking.

  • As mentioned above, you can also make this maple latte recipe as a warm coffee drink instead of iced.
How to choose the best maple syrup?

Unfortunately, not all maple syrups at the supermarket are the same. Take a quick moment to skim through the ingredients list to check that it has a high percentage (or ideally 100%) pure maple syrup instead of maple flavouring and/or high-fructose corn syrup.
